Behind the Desk

When Kate is not in the office, she enjoys playing sports and participating in triathlons.  In 2016, she completed her first half-Ironman distance triathlon - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run - 70.3 miles total.  (Pictured left is Kate celebrating with her husband after the race.) She also enjoys  playing on recreational volleyball and softball teams.

Kate has served since 2013 on the board for TEAM, Inc., in Derby, a community action agency focused on anti-poverty initiatives in the community.  She was thei chair of their board for six of those years.  TEAM's services include early childhood education, Head Start, fuel assistance, Meals on Wheels, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Toys 4 Kids, Diaper Bank, and more. TEAM's mission is to strengthen the community by educating, supporting and empowering individuals and families.  She has a passion for fundraising for TEAM and other non-profit organizations in the Valley.

Kate has been blessed with a great family, including her husband, James, and Jack, a rescue Beagle-Bassett-mix dog from Alabama.  She is active in her church and enjoys singing Sunday mornings.  Her faith in God is what drives her in her work as an attorney.
